1. Know your full name, address, phone number and a parent's phone number at work.
  2. ALWAYS tell a parent where you are going to play. Don't play alone in fields, or in other dangerous or isolated areas. Always play with a friend or adult on playgrounds or at parks.
  3. Never tell anyone over the phone or at the door if you are home alone.
  4. Make a phone list of relatives, neighbors and friends you could call in an emergency. Put it by the phone.
  5. Don't take anything from a stranger, like money, gifts or a ride in a car.
  6. Do not go with a stranger to find something, like a lost dog, or give a stranger directions. Adults need to get help from other adults!
  7. Say "NO!" to touches on parts of the body covered by a swimming suit.
  8. Tell an adult if you are in a scary or uncomfortable situation. No one should ask you to keep a secret that's scary or makes you feel funny.
  9. Ask your parents to role play (or act out) with you some safety situations. Show them what a "Safety Expert" you can be!

TO UNWELCOME TOUCHES OR TOUCHES YOU DON'T WANT:

  1. Say "NO!" in a big loud voice to unwelcome touches you do not want. Try to look the person in the eyes.
  2. Move away or get away to a safe place.
  3. Tell a grown up who can help you.
